We started studying the affect of light on the value of objects (shading and tone) in the classroom and students were tasked with creating a personal still life then reproducing that still life and adding shading to it using ebony pencil creating rich dark tones all the way through light grey tones. Most students did an awesome job and here are some of the highlights. from last weeks lesson on Value.
Now keep in mind some of these students are coming to me in High NEVER having had an art class before.
Some have had art classes before.
AND some like to show off, these 2 did not stay true to the ebony pencil and switched to charcoal and pastel, the outcome is so nice I can't be upset with them.
